Happiness is a Choice: The Greatest Lesson my Teenage Son Taught Me

mom and B hospitalOne of the greatest lessons Braedon ever taught me was that happiness was a CHOICE.

I always knew this was true to an extent but that boy showed me in a very profound way how powerful our mindset truly is.

Waking up everyday on oxygen that kid smiled. He struggled to breathe every time he got up even with the oxygen. Brushing his teeth winded him. Getting dressed winded him yet still he smiled. Still he laughed. Still he joked. Still he shined on.

Even though this had been the second major illness during his short time here he never played the victim, he never complained or asked why me. He just kept on keeping on with the biggest brightest smile.

How are you showing up in your life? Are you playing the role of victim? Are you focusing your energy on the negative? Are you saying I’ll be happy when….? What are you waiting for? Your life is passing you by. Time is fleeting.

I urge you to live like Braedon did. Take ownership of your life and your happiness; it’s your choice to make. You can always find a reason to smile…♥
