I Peed My Pants Once! #100bravethings #18

You’re here, so I’m assuming that grabbed your attention. Maybe you can relate or you were just looking for a funny story. The truth is, I both exaggerated and downplayed the issue in the title. If I’m being completely honest I didn’t actually pee my pants but it’s been an issue for me more than once. In fact it’s been way more than once.

Can You Relate?

Those of you who are moms can may be able to relate; that’s when it first started to become an issue for me personally. Yes, I hate to break it to those of you who haven’t had kids yet if you don’t already know. After childbirth it’s pretty common for many women to have to deal with bladder leakage. Basically if you sneeze too hard you might pee your pants! If a sneeze sneaks up on you, watch out. Yes I’m serious friends. You have to embrace yourself for the sneeze. This is a real issue. It also can happen if you laugh too hard or cough too hard and don’t even get me started on running or jumping.

No Extra Pants!

I actually wish you could see me weird version of a jumping jack. It’s pretty comical and awkward but seriously I’m trying not to wet myself during track three. You know the one with jumping jacks, burpees and switch lunges! This is not pre-school I didn’t back an extra change of clothes; what are you trying to do to me.

Well if you found yourself in this same position; you are not alone my friend and there is help! Yes I know. Many of us have been just suffering in silence because who wants to talk about peeing there pants? A friend of mine talked about this openly on her social media and I was surprised to learn just how common this is; I felt a bit of relief learning that I wasn’t alone. I know it’s pretty taboo, awkward, and uncomfortable to talk about this but I challenged myself to talk about this embarrassing problem as part of my #100bravethings project. It’s a real issue that impacts 1 in 3 women.
