Our event, Embrace your BRAVE was supposed to be today. Along with others, I had to cancel this event which was crushing. It’s not cancelled indefinitely though. As long as the world is good to go, we’ll see you in September. It took me a decade to grow into the person who would have the guts to not only dream up a vision but to do the work to bring it to life. To quiet the voices in my head who yell and scream asking, what if. You know that voice. I’m sure you’ve heard it before. What if it fails? What if nobody comes? What if tons of people come and it sucks? After a decade in the making. After going from one job to another ( for most of my adult life) each one leaving me more unfulfilled, unhappy and dissatisfied than the last I finally stood up with my voice shaking and I yelled, what if, back. What if it’s everything I want it to be. What if it moves even one person to get back up after life knocks them down and crushes them. What if it inspires one person to reach for more. What if people laugh, and cry and grow together. What if it’s just the first of many. What if it grows. What if it empowers a room full of women & then they inspire other women in their own lives, at the jobs and in their families. What if. Now here we are in a different world, the day the event was supposed to happen and I’m ready to take another leap of faith. I have grown so much in the last 10 years and leaps and bounds in the last four. I am more confident than I’ve ever been, stronger, braver and more committed than I’ve ever been. I want to help you get here. I want to share the tools and tactics that have helped me grow into the person I am today. I want to help you embrace your brave! I’m so excited for this you guys!!! Have you met Macaroni?!?! This little weirdo is is going to be two years old at the end of April. Just like a toddler when he's really sleepy...he fights to stay awake. For some reason he also seems to dislike when I take his picture which is a bummer. Seriously I could just take 20 pictures a day because he's so darn cute... when I do try to get pis I have to act fast or he tries to eat my phone. Luckily he's to sleepy right now to even attempt his regular craziness!

I'm curious, do you keep a gratitude journal? I've been getting way more committed to my gratitude journal and it feels amazing. Doing so continuously reminds me how blessed I am in this life; how blessed we all are. Doing this has me looking for things to be grateful for constantly and well I believe that can help us draw more blessings into our lives. Today, better yet right now is an amazing time to start one if you aren't already. I bet if you list 10 things your are grateful a little ease will immediately wash over you. Goodbye March, Hello April! It's hard to believe that we're 92 days into this year. It's certainly not the 2020 we expected. Not the year we were hoping for or planning for but here we are, the start of another month. A brand new beginning, if you want it to be. The first quarter has come and gone, take some time to evaluate your results and reevaluate the remainder of the year. Life definitely looks different now; there's no question about that. There is still opportunity though. There are big goals and dreams that you can work on. There are projects in your home you can start or finish. There are new traditions and habits waiting to be created. There are friends and family to catch up with. There are people out there waiting to connect. This month is whatever you make of it. Did you know the first time I donated blood was the following month after Braedon got sick? It had been almost 11 years since he had his first life-threatening illness. As soon as we were thrust back into the world of critical illness I was reminded that I had wanted to make a difference. To be honest, I had been wanted to donate since he miraculously recovered from his first life-threatening illness back in 2007. Braedon had many transfusions throughout his life since he had chronically low platelets and a low blood clotting time. After everything we'd been through back then I wanted to donate to give back but that quickly became one of those someday goals. You know that kind; right? You want to do. You'll get to it. You are definitely going to do it. Some. Day. The truth is the idea of donating always scared me a bit; I hated needles. Combine that bit of fear with life and well 11 years had passed and I didn't once sign up to donate. It's crazy sometime how quickly life can pass us by. Finally, the month after Braedon was first admitted to the hospital I embraced my brave and made the appointment. I asked a few different people to come donate with me at the time but couldn't convince one person to donate along side me. I've donated 13 times now ( #14 is scheduled for this week) and over at The Braedon Foundation we've inspired over 300 donations spanning across two countries, 6 provinces and 9 cities. Never underestimate the power of facing your fears or the power you have within to make a difference in the world around you. Also, I'm no longer afraid. I sometimes go live while donating.
