LET GO OF NEGATIVE THINKING AND MINDSET & DITCH YOUR INNER MEAN GIRL ONCE & FOR ALL!
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS THIS IS SOMETHING SO MANY PEOPLE REALLY STRUGGLE WITH.
Many people struggle with the inner mean girl who has taken up residence their minds and attacks them on the regular. Let’s call her Pam. If you’re a Rachel Hollis fan girl like me; you’ll get the reference. You can call her what you want Pam, Bertha, Ursula; it doesn’t matter. Sorry to be the one to inform you, but that inner mean girl is you! You are self-sabotaging yourself with this negative and sometimes cruel self-talk and your inner mean girl Pam she can be pretty nasty. Take a moment to think about how that’s serving you? What you’ll discover is that it’s not. It’s actually limiting your ability to create the life of your dreams. It’s holding you back and keeping you stuck; living the same experiences over and over again.
IN THIS MOMENT YOU CHOSE TO THINK SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that you are in control of how and what you think? In this moment you could choose to think something completely different and I believe if you did that again and again it could change your life. I could wake up every day and choose to think that life sucks and everything is terrible, and nobody would even blame me. My sweet boy, Braedon passed just 4 months after his 18th birthday and this wasn’t even his first life-threatening illness during his short time here on earth. I may as well give up. Nothing good ever happens to me; the world is cursed. I could choose to think that all day, every day. I could stay in that dark place and never come out to see the light again but who would that serve?
FOCUS ON YOUR BLESSINGS
While I wish I could go back in time and find a way to save him, life doesn’t work that way. As much as I wish I could bring him back I can’t. What I can do, is choose what I think about and what I focus on. What I choose to think about and focus on are the blessings in my life. You might be thinking what the heck are you talking about Tiffany? I would hardly call you blessed. Your only son is gone. That is true, and it leaves me with pain that seeps all the way into my bones and into the deepest parts of my tortured soul. In addition to this pain it leaves with a longing and an ache that will never go away. It will never heal and that scares me. As hard and overwhelming as it is, I still get to choose and I choose to focus my blessings.
OUT OF ALL THE POSSIBLE WOMEN IN THE WORLD I GOT TO BE AND STILL AM BRAEDON’S MOM.
Google tells me that 357,817 babies were born on January 20, 2000 the day he made me a mom. That’s 248 babies every single minute. I like to think out of all those potential
moms he chose me and that was and still is a blessing. I also like to focus on and think about how I can keep his light shining bright by giving back in his memory.I like to focus on how I can continue to share him with the world and share the many lessons he taught me in life so that even people who never had the privilege of knowing him will be impacted by his light.
STAY IN THE DARKNESS OR STEP INTO THE LIGHT: THE CHOICE IS YOURS
The moral of the story; you may not get to choose everything that happens to you in life, but you choose how you react, what you think about and what you focus on. You can focus on the darkness. You can listen to Pam who tells you that life sucks, you can’t do this or that, you’re not smart enough, pretty enough or deserving enough or you can step into the light. Shut Pam down; you don’t need the kind of negativity in your life! Adopt new beliefs and finally change your life. It all starts in your mind. It starts with what you choose to believe; what you chose to think about. Your beliefs can lift you up, take you to the next level, help you realize your biggest dreams or hold you back; the choice is yours.
TIP: USE POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO HELP CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
Everything you say to yourself over and over again becomes an affirmation whether you believe in it or not. Challenge the negative thoughts with some positive affirmations!
